A message to our market patrons

To our Fulton, Kingfield, & Nokomis Farmers Market patrons –

As some of you may know, I will be stepping down from my position as Executive Director of Neighborhood Roots at the end of the month, after 7 market seasons with the organization.

My time with the farmers markets has left a deep impact on me. Neighborhood Roots has given me access to the freshest and tastiest of local food week after week, and opportunities to build lasting relationships with the people producing it. I’ve worked alongside amazing staff, volunteers, and board members.

It’s brought me great joy to see you, your families, and loved ones at the market as you carry out and enjoy your market routines. It has been a wonderful community to be a part of – and I hope that this community will continue to exist for a long time to come.

We need your help to make that happen. Vendor fees alone don’t cover the costs associated with our operations and programming – art and science activities for kids; special events; opportunities for you to learn about and try new vegetables. We pay insurance, rent, electricity, staff, and many of the other costs often associated with running a small business – except that we’re a nonprofit organization, working for the benefit of our community.

Please join me in giving today. Take a moment to think about what your farmers market – or markets! – mean(s) to you. What do you love about it? How would you, your farmers, and your neighborhood be impacted if it were gone? Give $20, $50, or $100 today to keep it running strong. Even better, set it and forget it: select a recurring donation. As little as $5 a month can provide ongoing support.

We know you support our farmers and vendors – I thank you in advance for your financial support of the organization that brings you together with them. Here’s to many more years of Neighborhood Roots and the Kingfield, Fulton, & Nokomis Farmers Markets.

Donate here today.
