Help at a market
The Fulton, Kingfield and Nokomis Farmers Markets are made possible in large part because of neighbors who share a little time. If you love your neighborhood market, we’d love to have you as part of our growing family of volunteers. During the season, we typically need support with market set-up, market tear-down, and helping out at our info booth. As little as a couple hours a season at your market of choice would make a difference. Plus, it’s a fun way to meet neighbors and show your support for local food and farmers!
What to expect & faqs
Preview our Volunteer Handbook below which includes information regarding expectations, parking, contact information and more.
What should I wear? Dress for the weather and be prepared to be active! We suggest comfortable shoes for walking and standing
What kind of work will I be doing? There are 3 basic shifts to choose from; Set - Up, Info Booth, Tear - Down. Each ‘shift’ has specific duties that are outlined upon arrival.
Do I have to live in the neighborhood of the market? No!
How long will I be there? Each shift lasts approximately 4 hours, but we are appreciative of any and all time you can contribute!
Can I bring a kiddo with me? Yes! You’ll be responsible for their safety but the more the merrier!
Where do I park? Take a look at in the Volunteer Handbook - you’ll find all the information you need there including maps!
How old do you need to be to volunteer? 16 and above! If under 16, please arrive with an adult at check in.
Can I have student community volunteer hours approved? Yes! Please bring required documentation to be completed at the end of your volunteer shift
I’m part of a group or team that wants to volunteer, how many is too many? While we love volunteers, our maximum per day is 6. This allows for there to be things to do for everyone. Instead, think about splitting your group up between days or markets!
