The Fulton, Kingfield and Nokomis Farmers Markets are made possible in large part because of ordinary folks who give a little of their time. If you love your neighborhood market, we’d love to have you as part of our growing family of volunteers. During the season, we typically need extra hands with market set-up, market tear-down, programming such as kids craft activities and cooking demonstrations, and ongoing special events. As little as one day a season (1- 2 hours) at your market of choice would make a difference. Get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org – we look forward to hearing from you!
If you have more time to give beyond just on market days, our board of directors is looking for new recruits for our upcoming 2016 fall board elections! Our board members – currently 13 residents from across South Minneapolis – help set the direction of our Neighborhood Roots organization and further our mission of bringing neighbors together to buy, eat, and learn about local food. They participate in annual strategic planning, attend regular board meetings, and serve on one of four committees: Executive, Marketing, Development, or Operations. Specific skills that we’re currently looking for among new board members include backgrounds in fundraising, web development, or local food policy.
