Have you always run your current business?
Just rounding our 1-year anniversary this spring.
What’s your favorite or least favorite vegetable?
I have just discovered Brussels sprouts and can’t get enough.
What’s your favorite thing to get from other vendors at the market?
A field to table meal. Everything freshly picked and grown with care and attention. Makes a difference.
What question do people not ask you at the market that you wish they did?
Why do you do it? What compels your inspiration?
Do you have a favorite market memory?
I don’t have one specific memory but I always seem to run into an old friend or acquaintance that I did not expect to see. Every time I go to the market I enter thinking, what are the possibilities today?
What’s the best advice you’ve gotten about your business?
Focus. There is such a thing as too many choices or too many products for people to choose from. Pick a few things you are good at or enjoy making and perfect those for the heart of your product line.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be, and why?
To be in two places at once. Time seems so short these days. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to spend more time with friends and family while your other self took care of the groceries, laundry, yard, dusting, etc.?
What do you do when you’re not doing work for your business?
I am a knit-o-holic so my hands tend to want to be making something all the time. Many weekends are spent “at the lake” where I might even bring my knitting out on the paddle board. Always working!
