Have you always run your current business?
I’ve had a variety of jobs throughout my working life and I like to say that they all prepared me for the three jobs/business’s I’m currently doing: Farming, Shiatsu Massage and Fermenter (kimchi & sauerkraut).
What’s your favorite or least favorite vegetable?
Fave: Hakurai salad turnips. Least fave: Purple top turnips (unless they’re fermented-delicious!).
What’s your favorite thing to get from other vendors at the market?
Pastries and coffee!
What question do people not ask you at the market that you wish they did?
“Is your fermentation vessel plastic free?” and “Are your products chemical/pesticide free?”.
Do you have a favorite market memory?
This is my first year with KFM, so most of my memories are with other markets. The first Winter Market with Kingfield at Bachman’s this year was very exciting and enjoyable to meet/make new customers.
What’s the best advice you’ve gotten about your business?
Don’t get too big too fast!
