Brussels Sprouts
Originating in Italy but named for Brussels, Belgium, these veggies, resembling mini cabbages, often evoke strong opinions in consumers. Think you hate them? It’s possible that you’ve had them overcooked or otherwise ill-prepared, which causes them to lose a lot of their nutritional value and smell strongly of sulfur. Try halving these sprouts and roasting them to get the best of their sweetness and light crunch, and pair with salty or acidic foods to balance their flavor.
